Get fresh ideas for healthy living at Farmers' Market
This year there’s another reason to shop for your fresh fruits and vegetables at the Farmers’ Market in
downtown Springfield. St. John’s Hospital will have a booth where you can pick up free nutritional information and healthy recipes each Wednesday. Health screenings such as blood pressure checks and osteoporosis testing also will be offered certain weeks.
“A healthy diet is so important to healthy living,” says St. John’s dietitian Sara Lopinski, RD. “The Farmers’ Market is a great way for us to reach people with ideas for healthy eating styles.”
St. John’s will be at the Farmers’ Market every Wednesday morning from May 18 through October 29. Nearly 40 vendors will have booths on the Old State Capitol Plaza (between Fifth and Sixth streets and Washington and Adams streets).
For more information about St. John’s participation in the Farmers’ Market, call the Community Relations Department at (217) 544-6464, ext. 44301.
