First Steps: Moms Support Group
This group gives moms and their babies the opportunity to meet in a relaxed and supportive atmosphere. Moms can bring a brown bag lunch and join in lively informative conversations conducted by Birth Center nurses.

The group meets on the fourth floor of the Carol Jo Vecchie Women and Children’s Center at St. John’s Hospital every Wednesday from 12 noon - 1:30 p.m. There is no charge for this service and no registration required.

New Moms: Dealing with Feelings (postpartum depression) Support Group
This group helps women suffering from postpartum depression and other mood disorders following the birth of a baby.

Within the first year after giving birth, as many as 10-15 percent of all new mothers experience feelings that are frightening and overwhelming. By meeting with other women who have similar experiences, mothers can learn the facts about postpartum depression and explore positive ways to cope. Free meetings are held twice a month. Share Support Group
Share is for parents who have lost a baby due to miscarriage, still birth or early infant death. It meets on the first Wednesday of each month from 7 – 8 p.m. in the St. Clare Annex, next to Chapel at St. John’s Hospital. For more information, call Spiritual Care at (217) 544-6464, ext. 55675.
